I came across an absolutely awesome 2cv today whilst trawling through Retro Rides. It made my jaw literally hit my desk! Until about 2 years ago I thought 2cv’s Dyanes, and Amis were a bit of a joke. Pretty much the same as everybody. Except as usual there are a few genius’ who see the massive potential these cars have. The aforementioned 2cv on retro rides is stunning in so many ways. If there was a list of boxes to tick when making a car it would probably go something like this;
Stance – Airride! Anything that can go up and down is instantly a win
Wheels – Small, red and whitebands. Its THE staple look for old wheels
Paint – Flat. Well you know I love flat
Interior – Ok so I cant actually see it but im sure its just as sweet as the rest of the car….
and thats pretty much it. Those few simple rules will mean you end up with something like this

Obviously the only way to possibly beat air or juice is to be just as low hardslammed! This is takes dedication and you have to give extra bonus points to anyone willing to kill there subframe/sump/own body for the sake of ultimate lows!

One thing they do take really well to is a bit of rodding and it always suprises me it doesn’t get more often. Quite a few photochops around but its a struggle to find them in the flesh

One last point, DONT FORGET THE VANS!

I’ve just returned from a road trip to Spain in my VW Panel van and on the way back through France passed heaps of 2CV convoys some standard driven by passionate fossils and other cooler examples carrying more youthful faces. There had been a monster Citroen Show over that weekend and there was a mass exodus! The French are passionate about their home grown cars so if you are looking for 2CV’s with a difference maybe try some French sites.
