The American Veyron killer is back again and this time it has 1350bhp and is going to do 275mph! The SSC Ultimate Aero II is going to have the thrill seekers and playboys raiding their savings accounts again with an estimated price of around $1m but speed does not come cheap and current Veyron owners already know this with the Veyron Super Sport costing between $2.5 and $3m, it almost makes the SSC seem like a bargain!

The original Ultimate Aero from Shelby Super Cars beat the Veyron in the top speed record fight with an impressive top speed of 256.18mph. Obviously Bugatti couldn’t put up with this and so they brought out the very limited edition Super Sport, which had 1200bhp and managed an average speed run of 267.81 mph enough to win them back the record.

Now though the new Ultimate Aero II is hoping to win back the crown and they look to be doing it with a bit more style this time as the all new body is designed by Jason Castriota who works with Saab and everyone knows that almost all Saabs are very pretty.

The 6.8 litre twin turbo V8 is giving out a ridiculous 1350bhp but the main trick in the SSC’s armory is the very low weight. Each wheel is made from a single piece of carbon fibre and weight less than 6kg, the overall bhp per tonne ratio will be almost double that of the Veyron!

Even at its relatively bargain price I don’t think my current account will quite be stretching to afford one so it looks like I am going to be doomed into forever going the speed limit…
