Golf And Capri Retro Race Battle

I recently came across a brilliant thread on ClubGTi that was started by a old skool racing driver called Geoff Thomas who used to race a Mk1 Golf called Autocavan, the thread is absolutely brilliant with pictures and stories of his racing days that are all fascinating. One picture in particular caught my eye and being a Capri driver I obviously take a lot of joy in seeing scenes likes this especially when they have a description like this one does below it.

“Hassling John Markey’s Capri at Copse Corner Silverstone July 82. Started on pole but piston blew at half distance maybe I was following too close to cool adequately!”
