Have You Seen The VW Ketchup? Is It A Van Or A Car?

Well it is neither, it is actually ketchup! VW who are better known for used vans such as the classic camper and the massive selling Golf range have been selling VW ketchup for a fair few years, releasing the first proper run of it in 1997 with selling 20,000 bottles of the stuff! This has now turned into a pretty big run of 425,000 bottles sold last year with over 100,000 already sold in the first 10 weeks of this year!

It all started off as a special thing that Volkswagen offered in their Wolfsburg headquarters as a accompaniment to the curry sausages they sold, presumably in the canteen/dinner hall back in the 1970′s. Obviously the ketchup was so good that someone suggested in ’97 that they should start selling it!

Bit of a weird thing to sell for VW but hey, who knows maybe they will do a special edition Golf Ketchup – in red of course! At least delivery would be easy as well because they wouldn’t need van hire they could just put it in the back of the brand new transporters as they were leaving the factory!
