In the Gymkhana grid videos and pictures I posted recently you may have seen a very 80′s/90′s looking AE86 Corolla with a livery that looked like the Saved by the Bell opening credits, it was pretty hard to miss…
The car eventually came second in the RWD class and it belongs to Formula D driver John Russakoff, who seems to be a bit of an old skool legend. Not only does he compete in Formula D in an old corolla but he manages to be competitive he doesn’t even do it full time! He runs a fabrication shop called JSP Fab and just turns up at Formula D events that are local or an easyish drive and competes.
He has two AE86′s that he runs, one as a daily and one as his drfit car, both have Honda S2000 (F20c) engines with the drifter having a turbo stuck on it as well.
The daily is this car that started out like this
And now looks like this…
But what’s this matching car next to it here?
It looks like the Drift car has been painted to match! It used to look a bit more blue
But it needed some new decals for this year and a black base was needed for this….
Just brilliantly OTT and garish!
To prove he can drive damn well, check out the 2010 promo vid for him
And just because it is such an awesome picture I’ll stick this on the end as well, tyre shredding FTW!
