That Datsun Z – From One Post Ago…

I just found some more pics of it when I was visiting Racer86‘s Excellent blog (The guy with the amazing KP30) about the Z pics I did yesterday. The owner commented on one of the posts and subsequently this meant I could find the owners blog. So without further ado more pics!

  1. i just have 260z and ive got bbs rims 9 inch int he front and 11 inches (back) so can i have those rims on my car or they wont fit from the inside.i dnt mind to make them go outside the car but wht about from inside?

  2. 11 inches out back will need some pretty gnarly flares i would imagine but whether it fits from this inside without rubbing on suspension etc depends on the ET of the wheels

  3. what year is that

  4. Not sure exactly but i’m guessing sometime between ’69 and ’74

  5. I really want to know what the ring in the rear hanging means and if you can actually put any exhaust under the diff! I would like to get mine that low but i like just enough clearance so if something happens i would like to keep my exhaust on. I love that many colors faded look and he really pulled something off with this one its beautiful!

  6. The ring is a nod to Bosozoku crews in Japan and the rings were subway rings that they used to steal and hang off the back of their cars to show they were kinda outlaws.

You could put an exhaust under the axle and depending on the position of the axle in relation to the body it would probably give more clearance than an over the axle route because when you lower a car the axle tucks up higher towards the body and then the exhaust gets crushed between the top of the axle and the car body. If there is no room at all you could just have an exhaust ending before the axle.

  7. Loxlee – You realize your talking about a Datsun 240z right. They are independent suspension. This is not a straight axle that just raises up and down as you lower it. It has control arms and half shafts that go from diff to hubs. You have to go under axle next to 3rd member.

  8. @DAFT Hmm I didn’t think of that actually, I had suspension blindness and just thought what it would be like on my car! Oops my bad. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an under body shot of a 240, I’m off to find one and educate myself…

  9. its that a 15 inch rims wide 12 in the back and 10 in the front? how can it move and wht about the shusi of the body down
